Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the X Ultra and the X Ultra S?
Neither range nor weight: both ship with two 18.6-mile batteries (37.3 miles combined) and weigh about the same, 5.5 lb against 5.6 lb with a battery.
For about $600 more (prices checked Oct 1, 2026), the X Ultra S adds the newer HyperIntuition AI and a 65 W wall charger. The X Ultra remains the better value of the two.
Do I really need 1,000 W?
On flat ground, no: even the 800 W models are only partly used there.
The difference shows on steep grades with a loaded pack, where the extra torque delays the point at which assist maxes out. If that is not your situation, the X Carbon is enough.
