Frequently asked questions
X Max S or X Ultra: which should I choose?
The X Ultra, for most buyers: it costs $100 less (prices checked Oct 1, 2026), comes with two batteries, 12 modes and an SGS-certified carbon frame, and weighs 5.5 lb against 5.7 lb.
The Max S offers the newer platform. Until the S series builds up owner reports, the X Ultra is the safer pick at this price.
Is the 18.6-mile range realistic?
It is a best-case figure for one battery. With sustained, strong assist, expect a third to half less.
If you need more, the X Ultra gives you two batteries for less money.
